How much does LitBuy shipping cost, and how long does it take? For a typical parcel under 2 kg to the US, UK or EU, expect $12 to $40 on a standard air line and 10 to 20 days door to door. Economy postal lines are a few dollars cheaper and take 15 to 30 days; express couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) cost two to three times more and arrive in 4 to 8 days. Heavy parcels over 5 kg are cheapest by sea or rail at 35 to 60 days. The exact price depends on destination, weight and volume, and LitBuy has a built-in shipping estimator that shows every line with a price before you pay for anything. This guide shows how to use it, what each line costs per kilogram, how long delivery takes and what three common parcels cost in practice.
How to estimate LitBuy shipping cost
You do not need items in the warehouse to get a quote. LitBuy's shipping estimate (sometimes labeled freight calculator) works from weight, dimensions and destination.
- Log in to your LitBuy account. The estimator is available to registered users; registration is free.
- Open the shipping estimate tool. It is linked from the warehouse page and the shipping menu. Look for "Shipping Estimate", "Estimate Shipping Fee" or "Freight Calculator".
- Enter the destination country and, where asked, the postal code. Some lines are only offered to certain regions.
- Enter the weight in grams. If you have not bought anything yet, use rules of thumb: T-shirt 200 g, hoodie 500 to 700 g, jeans 600 g, sneakers 800 g to 1,200 g with box, jacket 700 to 1,000 g, plus 100 to 300 g for LitBuy's outer packaging.
- Enter rough dimensions in centimeters. This matters more than most people expect. Air lines bill the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight, calculated as length x width x height divided by 6,000 (some lines use 5,000). A 40 x 30 x 20 cm box is billed as 4 kg on a 6,000 divisor even if it weighs 2 kg.
- Compare the list of lines. The estimator returns each available line with its price and estimated transit days. Standard air is usually the best value for parcels under 2 kg.
- Add import charges. The estimator shows shipping only. Import duty and VAT are charged separately by your country; use our customs calculator to add import duty on top of shipping and get the real landed cost.
Once the items are physically in the warehouse, LitBuy re-weighs and measures them, and the price you see at the shipping step replaces the estimate. The estimate is usually within 10 to 15 percent if your weight guess was reasonable.

Costs are approximate ranges based on what LitBuy's estimator shows for common destinations in September 2026. Prices change with fuel surcharges and season, so run the estimator before paying.

Notes on the table:
- Most lines charge a first-weight fee (for the first 0.5 or 1 kg) and then a smaller fee per additional 100 g or 500 g. That is why heavier parcels have a lower cost per kilogram.
- "Tax-inclusive" lines build an estimate of import VAT into the shipping price and handle clearance for you. They are convenient for EU and UK addresses, but the declared value must still be accurate; see How to Declare on LitBuy.
- Australia and Canada are usually 10 to 20 percent above the US/EU/UK ranges.
How long does LitBuy take to deliver?
Total time is warehouse time plus transit time. Count 2 to 7 days for the seller to deliver to the LitBuy warehouse and 1 to 3 days for QC photos and packing before the line's transit time starts.

Tracking often does not update for 3 to 7 days after handover to the line and for 1 to 5 days during customs clearance; this is normal. Contact LitBuy support if there is no movement for 10 days on an air line or 30 days on sea or rail. Add 1 to 3 weeks around Chinese New Year (January or February), Singles' Day (11 November) and the December peak.
Shipping cost examples
These three parcels are typical of what LitBuy users ship. Ranges cover the US, UK and EU on the lines listed.
0.5 kg: one T-shirt and a cap
- Economy air: $9 to $14
- Standard air: $12 to $18

Small parcels are dominated by the first-weight fee, so shipping two T-shirts instead of one adds only a few dollars. If you plan to order more within a couple of weeks, wait and consolidate.
1.5 kg: one pair of sneakers and a hoodie
- Economy air: $22 to $32
- Standard air: $26 to $40
- Express courier: $50 to $70
Sneakers in their box are bulky; asking LitBuy to remove the shoe box and ship in a bag often cuts 300 to 500 g of actual weight and even more volumetric weight.
3 kg: two pairs of sneakers, a jacket and accessories
- Economy air: $40 to $58
- Standard air: $48 to $72
- Express courier: $90 to $125
- Sea / rail (where available): $25 to $40, but 6 to 8 weeks
At this size the per-kilogram price drops noticeably, which is why one 3 kg parcel is almost always cheaper than three 1 kg parcels.
Which line for which destination
United States
Standard air lines run 10 to 18 days; express couriers 4 to 7 days. All parcels are subject to duty since the $800 de minimis exemption ended in August 2025, and the carrier collects it (plus a processing fee) before or at delivery. Declare the actual purchase value; low declarations on US-bound parcels are a common reason for holds.
United Kingdom
UK-specific agent lines (delivered by Yodel, Evri or Royal Mail on the last mile) are usually the cheapest for parcels under 2 kg and take 10 to 18 days. VAT is due from £0; on tax-inclusive lines it is built into the price, otherwise the carrier bills it with a handling fee. Duty applies above £135.
European Union
EU tax-inclusive lines (delivered by DHL, GLS, DPD or the national post) take 12 to 22 days and handle VAT for you. Standard air without tax handling is slightly cheaper but you pay VAT plus a carrier fee on arrival. The €150 duty-free threshold still applies in September 2026 but is scheduled to be removed; check the European Commission source below.
Canada
Standard air lines take 12 to 25 days. The duty and tax free threshold is only CAD 20 for postal parcels from China, so expect GST/HST on almost every order. Postal lines tend to have lower brokerage fees than express couriers.
Australia and New Zealand
EMS is the most consistent option at 8 to 15 days; economy air lines take 15 to 30 days. Both countries generally do not charge duty at the border on consignments up to AUD 1,000 or NZD 1,000, but GST may already have been collected at checkout.
Middle East and Asia
Dedicated Middle East air lines take 12 to 25 days to the UAE, Saudi Arabia and neighbors. For Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, EMS or regional air lines take 5 to 12 days. Confirm the local threshold on your customs authority's site before ordering.
Reducing shipping costs
- Consolidate. Wait until all items are in the warehouse and ship once.
- Remove packaging. Ask LitBuy to remove shoe boxes and retail packaging (keep it for fragile or collectible items).
- Watch volumetric weight. Bulky, light items (puffer jackets, plush toys) cost more than their scale weight suggests; ask for vacuum or compression packing where offered.
- Choose economy for non-urgent hauls. The difference between economy and express on a 2 kg parcel is often $40 or more.
- Avoid shipping heavy, cheap items. A $10 ceramic mug can cost $15 to ship.
Packaging and insurance
